A L'ARME! FESTIVAL.

If God hates gays and lesbians, and his followers are doing His will by persecuting him, then God is wrong, and Satan is redundant.

"Hello, my name is Peter Gannushkin. I am a photographer from New York. A few years ago, I started presenting my photos in different venues, first in New York and then in Europe. Usually my exhibitions are organized based on some story or topic: John Zorn's The Stone has portraits of its monthly curators; Wels Music Unlimited, NYC Vision and Oslo All Ears festivals had exhibitions of people strongly associated with their past and present line-ups; the latter two also had exhibitions of photos from previous festivals; DOM in Moscow and again Vision in New York hosted different versions of an exhibition of musicians and the places they are connected with.

For the show in Krakow, I came up with an idea to bring photos taken during European festivals in the last two years. However, somehow the process of selecting images was slow and tiresome. Several times I caught myself thinking that these constraints simply do not make sense considering the fact that I might not have another chance to bring photos to Krakowska Jesień Jazzowa festival. Hence I dropped the idea and instead chose relatively recent photos taken both in Europe and in New York. The people you see here are among the greatest artists I have the pleasure to know and to photograph. I hope you will enjoy the photos of these musicians as much as I enjoy their music."
